Everything you need to know about how your premium number from NumberMyChoice gets activated — including the ₹999 Vi Postpaid offer and the standard MNP process for porting in from another operator.

🎁 Vi Postpaid ₹999 Activation Offer

On any premium number purchase above ₹2,999, you can choose to activate your number on Vi (Vodafone Idea) Postpaid for a flat ₹999 activation, irrespective of your current operator (Jio, Airtel, BSNL, Vi or any other Indian telecom). Select the offer at checkout — the ₹999 will be applied as a discount on your order total.

A. Already on Vi Prepaid? Same-day activation

If your current operator is Vi (Vodafone Idea) Prepaid, we move your account to Vi Postpaid directly — no MNP request is needed because the operator does not change.

2Complete payment & upload your KYC (Aadhaar + selfie) — our agent will assist.
3Vi runs a same-day plan-change request from prepaid to postpaid.
4Your number stays the same. Postpaid SIM (physical or eSIM) is delivered within 2–24 hours.
5Activation typically completes on the same day. You receive an SMS from Vi confirming the new postpaid plan.

B. On Jio / Airtel / BSNL / other? MNP to Vi Postpaid in 3–5 days

If your current operator is anything other than Vi, your number will be ported in via the official MNP (Mobile Number Portability) process — a regulated DoT/TRAI procedure. Your number stays the same throughout.

📲 Step 1 — Generate your UPC code

From the number you want to port, send an SMS to 1900:

PORT <your 10-digit mobile number>

You'll receive a UPC (Unique Porting Code) valid for 4 days (15 days for J&K, Assam, North East). Share this UPC with our activation agent immediately.

1Place your order and select the Vi Postpaid ₹999 offer at checkout.
2Generate the UPC by SMS to 1900 (see Step 1 above) and share it with our agent.
3Complete KYC (Aadhaar e-KYC or biometric) when our delivery executive arrives with the new Vi Postpaid SIM.
4Vi raises the MNP port-in request with your existing operator. Your old SIM remains active during the transition.
5Within 3–5 working days (DoT-mandated window), your number ports to Vi. You receive an SMS from Vi confirming the activation date & time.
6Insert the new Vi Postpaid SIM on the scheduled date. Your number is now active on Vi Postpaid.

⏱ Why 3–5 working days? This is the standard MNP window mandated by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and TRAI. NumberMyChoice cannot expedite this — it applies to every telecom port in India. Your old operator must release the number, and Vi must provision it on their network.

Documents required for KYC

✅ Aadhaar Card (for e-KYC / biometric verification)
✅ One recent passport-size photo (digital is fine for eSIM)
✅ A secondary contact number (for activation OTPs & confirmations)
✅ Proof of address — only if Aadhaar address is outdated
